5 Easy Ways To Make Healthier Lifestyle Choices

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to this weeks blog post:) It’s a little crazy that we are already halfway through the year, time is flying past! So with today been the first day of a new month, I thought for todays post , I would share 5 easy ways to make healthier lifestyle choices. I think starting certain new habits is easier in the Summer time, the sun is shining, its easier to get up earlier, eat healthier and get out and about. So with that said lets get straight into it!

1. Get Enough Sleep

I don’t know about you, but unless I get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep every night, I can’t seem to function properly. I get cranky and I get a headache and am just miserable (and miserable to be around to I am sure). I would love to be one of those people who only need 4 to 5 hours sleep each night, think about how much more we could get done in the day! If you need a good 8 hours sleep to function properly, then make sure you get it. Go to bed at a decent time, as in go to sleep at a decent time. Don’t go to bed at 9.30pm and still be scrolling through your phone at 11pm, that’s totally pointless. If you go to bed at 9.30pm, then go with intention of reading for 20 minutes or go straight to sleep.

2. Drink Lots of Water

Yes the recommended 8 glasses of water a day is what we should all be having, so definitely aim for it! Staying hydrated is great for your energy, your skin, and basically the best thing that you can do for body! If you do struggle with drinking water, maybe you just keep forgetting, then there are apps out there that will help you. Just search water drinking apps and they will all appear! You can set your goal and then fill in how much water you have had, it will bing and let you know if you are falling behind and that your body needs more hydration!

3. Get Active

Whether you take up running or go to a yoga class or swimming once a week, anyway to incorporate exercise into your life is great! Try to swap those 30 minutes of TV time to a 30 minute walk. Get yourself a great playlist on Spotify or download some good audio books and away you go for 30 minutes. You will be 100% the better for doing it!

4. Be Positive

Changing how you think or changing your attitude to be more positive is a great practice to instill on yourself. Once you feel more positive towards things then this will obviously make you feel happier and in turn will help you live a healthier life and reduce those stress levels! When we get stressed, we tend to fall into those bad habits so trying to remain positive and focused on the good will help opt for those good habits that we are trying to create.

5. Try New Things

Experiment a little with your food, if having a salad to you is just like eating rabbit food, then play around with recipes to create your own healthy meals and snacks. Maybe start meditating (I am currently trying this and I will let you now how I am finding it!). Try different exercises, maybe you don’t like running or going to the gym, then join a local football club. Make it fun!
