6. Visit Family & Friends

In the run up to Christmas, take some time to visit extended family and friends. Make sure you bring baby’s Christmas hat and take some pictures for some more special memories.

7. Make Personalised Christmas Cards

You can use baby’s footprint, hand print or one of the sweet photo’s you have taken of baby in their Christmas hat or outfit as the card image. A lovely memory to give to family and friends.

8. A Christmas Eve Box

The excitement of Christmas Eve is just the best! For baby’s first Christmas, they won’t have any idea what is going on, but a Christmas Eve box is a tradition that will be so special every year and will bring so much excitement! Putting little things like a teething ring, a teddy, a book to read on Christmas Eve are just some of the little things you can put into babies first Christmas Eve box.

9. Go To Christmas Eve Mass

Now this one might not be for everybody, but if it is something that you would like to do then, get dressed up or put on your Christmas jumper and head to Christmas mass. It is also a nice way to see some neighbours and friends from your community and wish them all a Happy Christmas!

10. Get A Special Christmas Day Outfit

Whether it’s a hand me down from a friend or family or you buy something new, having a special Christmas Day outfit is a must! Maybe this is something that you can include in the Christmas Eve box. It may get pee’d or pooped on at some stage, so get some photo’s as soon as you put it on!

11. Read A Christmas Book

On Christmas Eve night, after you have hung up the Christmas stockings take some time to relax with baby and a mug of hot chocolate and read a Christmas book. This might become the book that you will read to your little one every Christmas Eve, how special! Here are some lovely ones.

12. Donate

For some people Christmas Christmas is a difficult time of the year. I bet your little one received lots of gifts when they were born. Did they get so many clothes that they will grow out of them before they have a chance to wear them? Did they get one too many teddies or teething rings? Check to see where you can make local donations, maybe to a local shelter or your local church or grocery store may be accepting donations for a toy drive. Or do a Christmas Shoe Box appeal, these are always a great way to give a little something back. Just Google ‘Shoe Box Appeal’ and put in your area and see where the donation center is where you can drop off your Christmas Shoe Box. This is a great tradition to do every year with your little one.

13. Make A Christmas Scrapbook or Album

After taking all those pictures and making some special memories for baby’s first Christmas, then creating a scrapbook or photo album is a great idea. We don’t print pictures as much as we should these days because, well we don’t have to, we just look at the phone or camera and there’s the pictures. But there is nothing nicer than flicking through an actual photo album. And what a lovely coffee table book it will make at Christmas time!

If you would like to make your own scrapbook, all you need is scrap book paper, a cute scrapbook, adorable stickers, washi tape and some nice sparkly Christmas coloured pens. Don’t forget your glue! If you prefer, you can get great Christmas scrapbook kits with everything you need altogether.

  1. My first son was born on Christmas day so we had Christmas dinner on little women’s Christmas on the 6th January and took a family photo, which we recreated on his first & second birthdays. This year we had a summer baby so will be adding him to the family Christmas photo this year. 😊
